Mission Statement #1
Locating the missing teddy bear and capture a panorama view of the location, and return to base for further analysis while flying over obstacles which at the front of the drone.
Details:
The location of the teddy bear is acquired through a GPS module mounted on an Arduino Uno.
The location (latitude, longitude) of the teddy bear is sent to the drone via radio telemetry.
The received location is shown on a map that is hosted on a web server on a Raspberry Pi.
The drone can be fully autonomous and move to the identified location, or operated with an operator monitoring the state of the mission through a web page hosted by Raspberry Pi.
An onboard stitching of multiple images taken in the location of the teddy bear will be carried out once the teddy bear is identified.
The drone will then return to base and land precisely on the landing platform of a rover.
The drone will be able to fly over an obstacle detected at the front of the obstacle at any point of time when the drone is flying towards the teddy bear, or returning to base. The drone is programmed to always face towards the front while flying as the infrared sensor is pointed towards the front.
Mission Statement #2
Modelling of SP Sports Complex in a fully autonomous manner by capturing a number of pictures at different locations.
Details:
The path is uploaded to the pixhawk via a .txt file.
An image is taken at each waypoint.
The images are transferred to a laptop to generate a 3D model of the sports complex.
Note:
Due to a low processing power of Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, the modelling can not be done onboard. However, it is possible to achieve a fully autonomous modelling of an area if a companion computer with a much better processing power is used.
